Music in the Vale
presents an annual series of Chamber Music Recitals in St. Denys’ Church, Stanford-in-the-Vale and surrounding parishes.
Drawing from a wide circle of musicians, the recital programmes are varied and include popular and some less well known pieces.
The first of the planned concerts for 2020 was very successfully delivered on the 15th of March, albeit with a rather select audience!
The following concert took place:
Sunday 25th October 2020, St. Denys’ Church, Stanford 3.00 pm
“Music from Vienna”
Duos and Trios by Bach, Mozart, Molino
Vale Baroque: Caroline Duffner – violin,
Emma Sheppard – viola,
David Pedder – classical guitar
with live streaming and recording. If you would like a link to that recording, please email DJPedderDPA@btinternet.com
Our next concert entitled 'Linking Classical & Folk' was to have started at 3.00pm on Sunday 22nd November 2020 in St Denys Church, Stanford in the Vale. The concert was to have featured The Moonrakers:
Eleanor Dunsdon – harp, Jacqui Johnson – cello, harmonium
Sarah Fell – voice, drums Jon Bennett – voice, guitar, Irish bouzouki, flute
performing traditional and contemporary folk music – and exploring their roots.
However the impact of the latest lock down means the church is no longer available. We have therefore had to cancel this concert and will now start our planning process for our 2021 programme. Meanwhile our sincere thanks for supporting our Music in the Vale programme so well and our best wishes for the lock down and for Christmas and the New Year.
